7700 Switching Module - Max. DC voltage

Post by setgmbh » April 29th, 2013, 5:20 am

Dear Sir or Madam,
we are using a DMM 2701/E together with a switching module 7700.
In the Model 2701 Users Manual - Chapter 3-10 (Basic DMM Operation) there is some information about the connection of the Model 7700 switching module:

Maximum input voltage: 300VDC or RMS, 1A switched, 60W, 125VA

Why is the maximum dc voltage level the same as RMS voltage level?
300VRMS -> 424,26Vpeak
Can we connect a DC voltage of 400VDC if we are switching only 40uA current?
Please give me a short explanation.

Thanks,
W. Schafroth / SET GmbH

The maximum voltage on the 7700 card is 300V. Do not apply more than 300V or damage could occur.
even if switching with a low current. This is not a good idea.
