6220 current source to 7065 Hall effect card connection

Post by kjsaji » September 29th, 2014, 2:04 am

I have connected 6220 current source and 2182 nano voltmeter to 7065 card using switch matrix 7001. nano voltmeter channel 1 is connected to the terminals 4 and 5 in the 7065 terminal block. There are no other connections from terminal block. 6220 output is connect to the current source input of 7065 through a triax cable. Sample is connected through 1,2,3,4 of sample input of 7065 using triax cables. The problem is that when I configure the triax inner shield as guard and outer shield as output low, it does not source current to the sample. The 6220 output indicator just blinks.
While connecting the samples to 7065, I connected only the inner core of triax cable to sample terminal leaving the inner and outer shields of sample connecting triax cables without connecting to anything.
Is there any mistakes in my connection? Please advise me how to figure out this current sourcing problem.

Please look at the datasheet schematic drawing. There is a connection for an optional 6485. If you leave this open, then you need to connect that switch matrix channel to 6220 Lo to provide a path for the current sourced by the 6220 Hi to return to the 6220 Lo.
