Dear Sir,

There is a customer who uses Data Acquisition System model no.3108,he is using this instrument for sensing current,details as below:

he is using 8 channels out of which he has set gain as 100,300,400 and 500 to channel no 1,2,3 and 4, and to the channel no. 5,6,7, and 8 gain is provided as 1 constant but the problem is arising in measurement of channel no. 1,2,3,4 to which different gain has been provided. while taking reading from channel no 1,2,3 and 4 there is lot of fluctuation arising in the reading which creates problem in the operation of the system,but when same input along with different gain is given to another recording system it is showing correct output.so that as per customer the keithley instrument is not giving proper output.

kindly suggest the solution for this.

The available gains for the KUSB-3108 are 1, 10, 100 and 500.

When using the highest gain setting, the maximum recommended sample rate is 2KSamples/sec (vs. the 50KSamples/sec rate at gain of 1).

Assuming the gain of 500 is in use, you effectively have a +/-20mV range with 0.04% accuracy if averaging 50 readings. This is per the datasheet.

Make sure that you conform to the maximum sample rate for the gain factor in use. Make use of some signal averaging.

If you still question the performance, please provide more detail about expected measure value, actual measured value and the conditions of the measurement (differential or SE channels, sample rate, sample size for averaging, gain, etc.)
