DPO 4052 Overvoltaged.

Post by maxxon » May 19th, 2020, 9:58 am

Hello my friends.
I'll let my friend to use my scope on field work.
And he connect it to power radio transceiver directly,
without any dividers.

It starts with errors.
Please change the horizontal scale to resume operations...
System errors, and calibration requests...

Now it shows the SPC error,
Horizontal line on upper corner on 1 ch.
Full scale noise on 2 ch
And different noises on 3 and 4ch.
Visual inspection of analog path does not find any burned components.

How can i test them, to find the failed IC?

It does sound like your friend may have fatally damaged the scope, likely the Tektronix custom digitizer ASIC.

Have you run a self test on it? Utility>Utility Page> Self Test

If that fails, and running SPC (signal path compensation fails), then the scope will have to be sent for repair. Many of the ICs are Tektronix custom ASICS and won't be available for you to repair/replace yourself.

Unfortunately, that looks like it is fatal damage to the acquisition system ASIC.

It is not the input multiplexers maxim 203285922 ??
Maybe the triggering scheme?
It is really hard to find digitizer ASIC..
Can i buy it from your service directly?
Can you explain the block scheme, of which ASICs goes to digitizing signal as signal conditioner, sampler, ram, dac... etc?
Where the trigger signal formed.?
Maybe somebody have a donor?? With another faults...
