Hi
Im trying to get an square in frequency with the signal generator, so I am trying to use the sinc function. I connected it to the spectrum analyzer and get a list of peaks with a distance between them equal to the frequency that I choose for the sinc function at the signal generator.
I have no explanation for that, could you help me to understand it please? what should I do to get a square function?
thank you very much!

sinc function
Re: sinc function
I am not sure I understand your questions entirely. You indicate using the Sinc function, but then needing a square wave signal. The sinc function does not create a square wave but creates sync pules based upon the set frequency. That is what you are seeing on the spectrum analyzer.

Re: sinc function
I am creating a sinc function (in time) and I need a square shape (in frequency). But what I get is a list of Dirac deltas similar to https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... mb.svg.png where the T in this case is the frequency that I set for the sinc function
