Connect AWG70001A to PC

Post by hami1975 » June 3rd, 2021, 7:14 am

Hello,
I want to connect AWG70001A to my PC to interface it with Matlab and also I would like to connect DPO73340SX to my PC aswell. I want to know what are the interfaces to do so? Any special port on each device. I am just a beginner so any advice would be great. Thanks. :?

The most common interface to use to connect your AWG and DPO to your PC is simply with Ethernet. If your PC is connected to a network, simply connect these two instruments to the same network.

Programmatically controlling the instruments via your PC is most often done by using a VISA/VXI-11 interface. The instruments already have TekVISA installed for this purpose. You can download and install TekVISA on your PC from this link:

With MATLAB, it is most helpful to have their Instrument Control Toolbox.

Once you are all setup with this, you can find many programmatic control examples using MATLAB here:

Thanks for your reply.

Can you also share some coding examples(Specfic to AWG70001A). The given examples and the ones on matlab unfortunately arent working due to some errors.

Im using the latest Matlab 2021A.
Looking forward
Thanks.
