I'm new to this forum, thank you for having me.

So I got a Tektronixs 2797 Spectrum Analyzer and it works with a flaw or two:

It frequently displays these error messages:

Frequency control failure
Tuning Failure 1st LO

It does this with or with out external reference (10GHz Rubidium Reference)

My plan is to do a once over given the age of the instrument and look for leaky capacitors etc.

Alas I will need a Service Manual. There is a vendor that sells volume 2, is that all I need to perform repairs and calibrations ?
Or do I need both volume 1 + 2 ?

I have scoured the internet for a while now. Volume 1 seems to be made out of unobtainium :(

Thank you for any help / info.
