MDO3000 AFG DC Level

Post by jaime_g » August 9th, 2016, 8:59 am

I have been trying to program the AFG in the MDO3014 to output a 5V DC level. Using the following instructions.

Code: Select all

:AFG:OUTPUT:LOAD:IMPEDANCE HIGHZ;
:AFG:FUNCTION DC;
:AFG:LOWLEVEL 0.0;
:AFG:HIGHLEVEL 5.0;
:AFG:OFFSET  2.5;
:AFG:OUTPUT:STATE ON
The output of the AFG is routed to channel 1 using a 50ohm coax cable. Channel 1 is set for high impedance.
However, the maximum level displayed is 2.5V.
What is the correct instruction set to display a 5V DC level?

There is no amplitude for a DC level. For a DC waveform there the only voltage control is offset. The offset range for the AFG function is +/- 2.5 volts into high impedance, so the maximum DC level is 2.5 volts
