[MDO3054] Checking trigger arm status for Single acquisition

Post by vidya2 » July 31st, 2017, 9:02 pm

Hello,

Is there an AER? equivalent for the Tektronix MDO3054 where one can determine if the scope is ready to be triggered for a single acquisition?

We are currently using a hard-coded empirically determined delay of 300ms between setting up the scope for a single acquisition and driving our test signal, and I was wondering if there was a more elegant method. Values less than 300ms result in missed captures.

Attached is a simplified version of our existing code:

Code: Select all

ACQUIRE:STOPAFter SEQuence
ACQUIRE:STATE ON
/* Wait 300ms */
/* Start test signal here */
The synchronization methods detailed in the programming manual seem to be more focused on synchronizing the scope for taking measurements, after the acquisition has been made.

I somehow managed to overlook the TRIGger:STATE? statement in the programming manual. Polling this until it returns READY does exactly what I want.
