multiple 2614B common ground

Post by hmueller23 » October 11th, 2017, 10:34 am

Dear
I am using first time two 2614B Keithely with 4 source-measure-units for solution gate FET characterization with reference electrode transfer and output. I am not sure that I did right connection of the four channels to the common ground. I am using the Force LO terminal of all SMU's, connect them together and also to the green banana connectors at the rear of the two instruments. However in the manual I found you should connect the sense LO together. I'm not sure what is correct.
Second if I connect the Force HI to the ground only current is not flowing. Can you please tell me where is the problem?
Thank you!

The Sense LO (and Sense HI) are used only if the SMU are configured for 4-wire remote sensing.

For your second question, what are the SMU settings? Forcing what? What compliance limit? Try using some resistance between HI and LO rather than shorting it.
