How to find out that a channel is limited?

Post by Der_Iltis » March 8th, 2018, 7:25 am

Dear all,

Today I'm trying to find out that a smu26xx was in compliance during a measurement. I'm ramping voltage at the cathode and measuring current at the cathode and the anode of a diode. My limit of 0.1 mA is clearly reached during this sweep. However, reading status.measurement.condition does not yield any information (status is always 0). How do I query the instrument for the information about the status of a measurement?

The smuX.source.compliance command will return true or false if the source is in compliance or not. If you are using it in a script then you could add the line

Code: Select all

hitLimit = smuX.source.compliance
If you are sending commands to the instrument one at a time then you can send to the instrument

Code: Select all
