We bought a Keithley 2616B current source, and we want to use it to generate a continuous current pulse of 1ms, 10%, 1A. Anyone knows how to set it up correctly in the front panel? Does it have to be controlled by coding? Thanks.

I say almost because this script (press Run after loading it) will prompt for the number of pulses to perform. This is in addition to prompting for the pulse amplitude, base level, on time, off time, etc.
If providing a very big number for the number of pulses to perform does not meet your needs, then some changes to the factory script can be made to change to indefinite operation/run until aborted. The modified script would need to be stored/run as a custom script.
Setting the smuX.trigger.count = 0 results run until aborted.
NOTE: you may need to adjust buffers for recycle mode and/or turn off measurements.
Custom scripts can be loaded/run from the front panel.
To see the source code of the Factory script, you can list it out in the instrument console window of Test Script Builder and then copy and paste it:
