Measuring PT100 with Slow Rate and Filter average of 10

Post by bshapira » December 28th, 2011, 8:13 am

Hi,

I am trying to configure remotely the 2700 to measure PT100 sensor on channel 110 with SLOW rate and Filter.

The commands I send to Keithley 2700 through serial looks like:
-------------------------------------------------
*RST
FUNC 'TEMP'
FUNC 'TEMP' ,(@110)
SENS:TEMP:NPLC 5,(@110)
UNIT:TEMP C
TEMP:TRAN FRTD
SENS:TEMP:FRTD:TYPE PT100,(@110)
SENS:TEMP:AVER:TCON REP
SENS:TEMP:AVER:COUN 10,(@110)
SENS:TEMP:AVER ON,(@110)
MEAS:TEMP? (@110)
------------------------------------------------
In the end I expect to get measurement with SLOW and after averaging but instead I get measurement with MEDIUM and one-shot value.
What's wrong in my script?

Thanks for help!!!
Baruch

MEAS:TEMP? will do a reset of all the settings you just set up, then take a measurement. Try a READ? instead.

Hi Nathan,

Thanks for the fast and helpful reply!

I replaced the MEAS with READ and it partially worked.
I mean, it measured with SLOW rate but yet without averaging of 10 measurements.
Please look at the configuration below and tell what to improve in order to make average of 10 measurements.

-----------------------------------------------------------
*RST
FUNC 'TEMP'
FUNC 'TEMP' ,(@110)
SENS:TEMP:NPLC 5,(@110)
UNIT:TEMP C
TEMP:TRAN FRTD
SENS:TEMP:FRTD:TYPE PT100,(@110)
SENS:TEMP:AVER:TCON REP
SENS:TEMP:AVER:COUN 10,(@110)
;SENS:TEMP:AVER ON,(@110)
SENS:TEMP:AVER:STAT 1, (@110)
TRAC:CLE
INIT
SAMP:COUN 1
ROUT:CLOS (@110)
READ?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks in advance,
Baruch

Baruch,

Try the code below. It seems to be working as evidenced by the now lit FILT annunciator light. Again, you will only be returned one reading, but the ADC will take 10 measurements, then digitally average those for that one reading you see.

Hope this helps.

Code: Select all

*RST
*CLS
TRAC:CLE
func 'temp'
func 'temp', (@110)
UNIT:TEMP C
TEMP:TRAN FRTD
SENS:TEMP:FRTD:TYPE PT100,(@110)
SENS:TEMP:AVER:STAT ON
SENS:TEMP:AVER ON
SENS:TEMP:AVER:TCON REP
SENS:TEMP:AVER:COUN 10
ROUT:CLOS (@110)
READ?
