2700 Data transfer speed

Post by EC-Cool » January 29th, 2016, 12:06 am

We are using the 2700 with the highest possible measure rate as set up in http://www.keithley.de/data?asset=13943.
The total data transfer time is mentioned as 10 seconds which we could verify.
Where is that long time coming from ? The GPIB can transfer 1 MByte/s.
Is there a way for improvement and how well is the 2701 in that respect ?

The integra series datasheet page 2 has communications rates for measurements for various scenarios.

The fastest data will be over GPIB. Readings per second maximum is 2000/second for the model 2700.

The 1MB/s is a maximum of the protocol and not the data rate you will achieve in normal operation of the instrument.
