These modules use latching electro-mechanical relays. Does this mean they retain their state without power? If so, do they remain in the same state at power up that they were in when powered off? In other words, is there any kind of power on reset that opens all relays?
When the channel.getclose() command reports that a relay is closed, is it reporting the physical state of the relay or the last commanded state of the relay?
If I send a channel.open() command, but the relay contacts are welded together so that it cannot open, will a subsequent channel.getclose() report that it is open or closed?

During power up, there is a reset to open all relays.
The channel.getclose() is reporting the last commanded state. After the instrument performs is relay reset at power on, the instrument tracks the states as they are applied, which it presumes to be the physical state.
Welded or otherwise failed relays that cannot open or close as intended will not have that state reported by the channel.getclose().
