2300 interface to VB examples

Post by narayanak » March 8th, 2011, 2:35 pm

I am not sure how to interface the 2308 to a PC. I would like some assistance in this regard. I installed the following, since I was not sure what to install:
Keithley Configuration Panel
VISA Assistant
Agilent Interactive IO (as I am using a AGILENT GPIB to USB device)

WHat is the best way to connect the 2308 to , say, the VB examples in the Kethley Config Panel directory?
Thanks

The Model 2300 are controlled by computer using GPIB(IEEE-488).
Any software or program that adheres to the GPIB protocol will be able to communicate with the instrument.
What GPIB card do you have?
Keithley's GPIB card comes with a short Test program to send commands and get data back. (it is TRTEST.exe of DIagnotic Tool depending on which GPIB interface you have.
National Instruments has NI MAX. Also good to test communication.
Here is the link to the KI web site and 2300 series example programs.

OK. Then the Agilent interface must have some rudimentary communication program.
Try to use that.
