I need to use a thermocouple (prefereably E type) with the keithley 2015 for temperature measurement. Can I plug the thermocouple probes directly to the Input HI/Input LO of the model 2015? Do I need keithley Model 7057A, 7402 thermocouple card for signal conditioning/measurement?
Thanks in Advance.

You can connect the thermocouple directly to the terminals.
However, this would not provide a CJC(Cold Junction Compensation).
That is OK. You can use the SIM (Simulated) reference junction.
The simulated reference junction is your best guess at the junction temperature.
At default it is 23C.
But if the 2015 is on for more than one hour then the internal temperature is about 27 or 28C.
That is what I would recommend to use as the Simulated value.
From the front panel
Press SHIFT, let go.
Select TCOUPLE, press ENTER.
Select TYPE, use right/left arrow buttons to select type E, press ENTER.
Select JUNC, use right/left arrow button to select JUNC SIM, press ENTER.
Enter in 27 or 28C, press ENTER.
That should help.
From the bus.
