High Voltage Intelligent Power Module Testing

Post by ieeebill » August 27th, 2013, 8:03 am

We have HVIPMs (High Voltage Intelligent Power Module) in our rail vehicle propulsion converters and inverters and we want to test and repair with maximum reliability assurance by re-qualifying the HVIPMs.

However, since these have a more complex control interfaces we are not sure how to go about this. Additional ability in testing and verifying the protective circuitry would be valuable.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Not sure about the exact testing of these modules.
But I would recommend to look at some of Keithley's Source Meters or perhaps some Parametric Curve Tracers.
They might be of help.
Here are the links to the data sheets on the KI web site.

Model 2600B series source meters.

Also look at the application notes on the 2600B series. They would be good for references.
