A.C Characterisation study using 4200 SCS

Post by kvshankar1288 » May 14th, 2013, 1:20 pm

I am a student and i would like to study the A.C voltage-current characteristics of a nanodevice. can it be done using Keithley 4200 SCS instrument.
There is a provision for Id- V g characterisation module but that can measure only d.c voltages.
I would like to source A.C voltage and study the characteristics of the device.
Kindly suggest me in this regard.

As you have indicated, the SMU of the 4200-SCS are most suited for DC characterization.

Does your particular 4200-SCS have the 4210-CVU module? This instrument can deliver AC test voltages from 1KHz to 10MHz and the resulting impedance measurements can be expressed in C and G or R+jX or Z/theta, etc.

Can somebody also obtain I-f or V-f plots as well by using 4210-CVU?

Thank you
