Low Resistane Measuring

Post by trm60101 » July 9th, 2012, 8:11 pm

My client currently uses a Keithley Model 7002 Mainframe, a Model 487 - Ammeter / Voltage Source and Model 7011 Multiplexer / Relay Cards (modified for form C switching) for high resistance (SIR) resistance testing. (see attached diagram). They need to do low resistance testing typically
2 to 10 ohms with a 20 volt bias voltage and a 12 volt test voltage.
Can they use the current 7002 Mainframe and 7011 Card set up and replace the 480 - Ammeter / Voltage Source with another instrument(s)
to accomplish this? If so , how would it be connected?

They can use the 7002 and 7011 as well as the 480. There should be no need to replace the -. I have attached a diagram to illustrate the connections.
