How to use Keithley 2400 drivers

Post by lacorgui » August 20th, 2014, 5:30 am

Hello people,

I´m new in Labview and Keithley world. Maybe this is too fool to ask but how can I know why is every Keithley 2400 driver for? I have Labview, I have the drivers, but I have no idea how to make a program!! I´m also trying with VISA but I think is double work since drivers are built with this resources, am I right? (moreover, I have no idea of VISA resources).

I´m working with Labview 9, no option to change for a new version

Basically the "driver" is made up of sub VIs.
This means it has "subroutines" which are called VI(Virtual Instruments).
You create a new VI and populate it with these sub VIs.
These VIs are written to do certain tasks(select range, function, trigger, take reading, etc).
You get to figure out what VI does what and then use them as needed for your requirement.

Hi Dale C,

thanks for the information. The question is: how to know what exactly every driver do? I´ve been using drivers for some motors from Thorlabs and there was a brief help for each driver, but using Keithley I found there is no help. That´s my problem, that I have to figure out what I must do and I don´t know how to make it. Anyway, thanks for your time.

In the Keithley 24XX native labview driver there a number of example VIs.
These example VIs use the driver to certain functions. Sweep/Measure, Perform Limit Test, Read Multiple measurements, etc.
I would suggest to look at those or use them to get started.

Can someone check my code and let me know what is the problem? I want to sweep V and measure V and I and get data in graph and table.

Thanks a lot!!
