KUSB-488B driver for windows 7_64 bit

Post by YangUVa » October 16th, 2014, 1:19 pm

Hi,

I installed the KUSB-488B drivers for my Win 7_64 bit laptop.
Then I connected my laptop with teh KUSB-488B and Keithley 6517B.
But the "Found new hardware dialog box" did not display on my computer screen, even I tried several different USB ports.
Then I restarted my laptop, the "found new hardware dialog box" still did not appear.
So I can not continue to install the hardware.
But I can see the Keithley 6517B if I open the KI-488 configuration utility.
What should I do to install the hardware? Is it ok now?

On the other hand, I found there are some 6517A/B LabView Driver on the website of Keithley.\
Should I also install the 6517A/B LabView Driver?
Or KUSB-488B driver is the whole thing I need to install?

Thx.

If you are able to see the 6517B in the KI-488 Config Utility, then the driver and software for the KUSB-488B is installed and seems functional.

The KUSB-488B is a GPIB interface for a computer and can enable communication with any instrument that has a GPIB interface. You should not expect anything specific to the 6517B from the driver software related to the KUSB-488B.

If you are intending to use LabVIEW, then the LV driver for the 6517B may prove helpful to construct a program. Alternately, you can use the VISA read and write or GPIB read and write VIs of LabVIEW to send the native SCPI commands understood by the 6517B.
