Generating a negative edge on a single trigger line

Post by sdot_sdot » September 7th, 2011, 2:50 pm

Hi,
How do I generate a negative edge on a single trigger line from remote control operation using the Keithley 6221? I am already using the output CAT to send a signal to a prototype board and using the Arm trigger(link 1) and trigger layer (link 3) to interface with my microcontroller. I would like to use a trigger LINK 4,5 or 6 to be able to send a signal to a pin of my micro, like a negative egde by toggling the the pin high to low for my micro to start a process. (Maybe the trigger line )could go on and off. Can you help me? Thank you

the trigger model in the Model 6221 is only "active" during a sweep.
To get a pulse out on TRIG LINK lines 4,5,6 you need to be in a sweep and have the appropriate TLINK line configured to output a pulse.
The command I would use is
:TRIG:OLIN 4
:TRIG:OUTPUT SOURCE
You can set up a sweep of two steps.
*RST
:SOUR:CURR 1e-4
:SOUR:CURR:COMP 10
:SOUR:SWEEP:SPACE LIN
:SOUR:CURR:START 1e-4
:SOUR:CURR:STOP 1e-4
:SOUR:CURR:STEP 1e-4
:SOUR:DEL 1
SOUR:SWEEP:RANGE BEST
:SOUR:SWEEP:COUNT 1
:SOUR:SWEEP:CAB OFF
:SOUR:SWEEP:ARM
:INIT
This should output two pulses on TLINK Line 4
