will 2657A meet my needs?

Post by dariovazquez » January 21st, 2014, 11:01 am

Hello I'm looking for equipment to do a SCR and Mosfet test, parameter of test are:
  • Breakdown Voltage 24-1500 VDC @ 200-1000 uA
    Breakdown Voltage 400-1800 VPK(AC) @ 0 - 300 uA
    Power Gate 1 - 4 VDC @ 1A
    Forward Voltage 0.8 - 2 VDC @ 15 - 100 mA
Device should be able to record data and send it to a CPU (adquisition), and be a porgrammable source, i think SMU can do that, but can SMU generate a AC signal? at thata amplitude?
this SMU can do +-3000VDC but can i program it to send a sine wave?, also does it come with current protection or that is a separate buy?

Also im trying to do this on the least equipment posible, connect it to labview and control it from there, my former set up was:
  • Programmable source AC/DC
    Adquisition cards
    High speed protection switch
Thank you in advance.

Model 2657A will not reach 1A at any voltage.
It is a DC instrument so no AC.
Breakdown and forward voltage it can do.
