If 6430 is not designed for such a experiment, I can try separate voltage source and current measurement by adding another Keithely (we have another Keithely 2400) as a voltage source. Do you recommend this way?

The inner conductor and outer shield of the IN/OUT HI connector should be used.
So connect a resistor between the inner conductor and outer shield (red and green alligator clips).
Then source the current or voltage and read the voltage or current.
Also, is the CMPL or uA,mA or mV or V light blinking?
If so, then the unit is in compliance.
If CMPL is blinking then it is in real compliance.
If uA, mA or mV, V is blinking then it is in range compliance.
If in range compliance the measurement range is too small for the measurement.
