Question about TPP0850 Measurement range

Post by Kenson Ma » July 15th, 2018, 5:20 pm

I am a bit confused about the measurement range of TPP0850. I noticed that on Tek manual it says it could be use to measure 1000Vrms, but on Tek website https://www.tek.com/datasheet/passive-h ... e-probes-1 says it could be used to measure switching transistor operating at 1200Vrms. So I am confused about the exact voltage range it could measure. Is it 1000Vrms or 1200Vrms?
I want to use TPP0850 together with BNC tip adapter (P/N: 013-0291-xx) to measure the voltage of a device operating at 1kV DC voltage. Is it okay to use them? Thanks!

The maximum voltage for the TPP0850 is 1000Vrms CAT II. The web site has a misprint in the text and will be corrected. As for measuring 1000Vdc, that is not problem for the probe. However, the adapter (013029102) that you are considering using is only rated to 30Vrms. I would use either the large or small hook tips that are supplied with the TPP0850 to connect to your DC source.
