keithley 6487 measuring current at 5 kV

Hello to every one,

I have a Keithley 6487 and I need to measure currents on a high voltage line (MAX 5 kV).
I know this - has the max input voltage at about 500V, but one technician in my institute suggest me that probably it exists some external module to perform measurements at a higher voltage (up to 5 kV or more).

Does this module exist? If not, there is a way to perform this measurement with this instrument or do I have to switch to another instrument?

do you need an external source of 5kV? Or do you need to float the 6487 at 5kV?
Model 6487 has its own voltage source built in. With a max output of 500V.
But if you are testing at DUT at 5kV, then make sure you do not float the 6487 at more than 500V.
Attached is a document showing a protection circuit when using high voltage with the 6487 and Keithley -.
Again, do not float the -, instead float the DUT.
